NY City to West Bend on Sunday 7/8 AM. Anyone interested in 600 - 700 straight miles (I-80 all the way). Sleep between Toledo / Portage IN and pass thru Chicago before 7am on Mon. 7/9.

If you make it to exit 92 on the Indiana Toll Road there is a Hampton Inn right there as well as others, plus lots of food places and a motorcycle shop (not BMW) just on the other side of the Interstate.

Josh,

I was planning on leaving on Saturday the 7th and thinking about I80 as well. I wonder how bad the delays would be on a Saturday. :dunno

I'm also planning on leaving Saturday. I'll be taking 90/80 all the way out. I figured Chicago might be alittle easier on a Sunday.

That would be great to have some company on the ride out. I haven't planned out my trip yet but it looks like I would be coming into PA by Rte. 84 and then pick up Rte. 80 somewhere.
I was thinking I would do about 500 miles per day, undecided on whether I stay at motels or tent camp on my way out, probably depends more on the weather.

Does this work for you?

Everything sounds good except the tent part. I wasn't planning on camping out, but that could change. I'll be staying in Joliet, IL for the first three days of the week to work, then heading up to the Rally on Thursday Morning.

That will work out for me because I am going to Iowa first to visit family until heading to the rally on Wed. a.m.

Mike, Sent you a PM. My Route is changing. Heading south to Wash DC and across Route 50.

I won't be making it across I80.

For those of you riding thru I-80 (NY to Chicago) this July 4th wkend, please advice us of the traffic bottle necks. We plan to take off Sat 7/7 or Sunday 7/8 foe WB.
