Logo Usage

I wanted to put the BMWMOA and Rally logos on my site. Mainly on the Rally Countdown Page.

I know that they are copyrighted, I was curious if we have any rules/guidelines on how to that.

You could either send a note to webmaster@bmwmoa.org or you could simply e-mail one of the officers. The secretary might be receptive so this could be a good place to start. ;)

On a similar note, does anyone know the rules about using the BMW Motorrad symbol (stylized rider on bike). I've seen several clubs use it in their club logo, and I carved it into a pumpkin this year.

So, does anyone know who to contact, or is using it as part of our logo considered "fair use"?

If the MOA doesn't already, now might be a good time to create a set of guidelines on the usage of trademarks and or logos.

Creating a set of guidelines, especially for trademarks and logos is important
in that it helps protect the trademark (the MOA logo is tm'ed, right?) as well
as guide in the acceptable use (or non in the case of some logos).

There are many examples. Here's one from Google (http://www.google.com/permissions/trademarks.html).
