Looking for a guy with the first name of Charles, he lives in Alexandra ,VA, and goes by the name of chick. I lost his card before my niece (Sophia, girl with the bullet belt) and I (chris) left the N.C. Asheville Rally June 7-10. He rides a R 1150 GS adventure and has stickers from many different countries and Rallies he has attended. Usually in jeans with a water backpack he is a gentlemen in good shape with closely cut grey hair and slightly balding. He wears glasses and his bike has a black gas tank.
Chick went out of his way to show us some of the back roads of N.C. , and pushed my skills to the edge on a 300 mile run of back road turns, he probably knew I needed to learn, but I thought I was not ready for. I was wrong. He slowed to my pace and carried Sophia on the back of his bike, so I could learn. It was about a 6-7 hour ride threw hairpin (10-15 mph) turns, and it made me a way better rider.
I brought Sophia up there because she was having some problems in school, and thought I would give her a place to think about things. What she got was a true love of BMW motorbikes and a respect for safety and the people riding them. She says BMW is her new hobby after riding on chicks bike. She felt perfectly safe with a experienced rider.
He taut me allot about turns, how you have to keep in shape to ride a GS Adventure, that fear is as dangerious as not practicing, and allot more. And he gave my niece a ride on the back of his bike she will never forget.
We both would like to thank this rider for the time he spent, and let him know he made a difference. If you meet this gentleman say " thanks , from sophia and topher".
Thanks chick
