I have just moved up the ladder of automobiles from a 93 Probe GT into a 2002 BMW 325i.:clap

Just wondering how many others own one of each (two wheeled and four wheeled).

I would also like to hear of any online resources (hopefully as useful as this one) for the driving version of the "Ultimate Machine".

Hello; I prefer the room of the 5 series, and the power. I have had a 535i for 7 years, I had a bavaria before that another great car. There is a 535 forum that was good. I currently have 434,000 kms on mine, it still runs like new. I put a new engine in it last year, now it just purrs.

When I got married I was gifted a car, I had to decide between a Jaguar, a BMW Bavaria, or a Mercedes 250C. I chose the Mercedes, it was a good car, but I regretted that I didn't go with the BMW. I made up for it later. They're awesome cars.

I don't but I have fond memories of my parents' 1600 they brought back from a European vacation in '71. They were planning to buy a new Super Beetle but saw the exchange rates and decided on the BMW instead. Great car!

2002 K1200ltc AND A 1992 525i w/188000 miles. Still running great and can't justify replacing it.

Ok, I have a 1986 325ES (my little racer!) along with a 2002 R1150RT. The car keeps going and going! I Love that little car! The bike . . . well, it's proving to be less trouble free than BMW's usual standards.

confratulations. i had an e30 318 and an e28 M5. i dug them both big time for different reasons. eventually, the servicing was punishing me more than the cars were rewarding me. (thats why god invented ankles, so i'd have something to hold onto when the car went to the shop.) ;)

im assuming youre under warranty now, take advantage of it. and when youre out of warranty, find a good local guy who is a little gentler. join the club and go to a local meeting and a meet a few folks. i have found that beemer enthusiasts and bimmer enthusiasts are very similar folks, they dig their machines and like to share tips and info with each other. cool dudes all around.

i hope you realize that youre in trouble. the only way to keep from missing your current car if you sell it would be to move up to the m3. it's a dangerous habit! heroin addicts shudder at the thought of falling in love with bimmers. :D

Yes, Bay-Em-Vay makes some nice four-wheelers, too. I've had the pleasure of owning several. Currently I have a '75 2002 someday going to be a Ti. May own another, a 3.0 CSI or maybe even a 850CSI the way prices are going. But IMHO, they're just German Chevrolets. All marketing wazoo-smoke aside, THESE are the "Ultimate Driving Machines"!

And Eric, NICE turbo. Was it real, or a rep? I've only seen one in real life and if was a beauty. The owner of "Tillery (?) Motors" in Denver owned it. IIRC, it had ~ 10,000 miles on it.

>Turbo would be fun but a supercharger would be more fun.

The Factory turbo's are extremely rare. IIRC, they only produced around 500 or so. The "look" is cool, too.
I think MetricMechanic used to sell a SC kit for 2002s. The Tii was the way to go with that. Much less plumbing on the fuel injected versions. I was investigating that when a woman putting on make-up on the freeway decided my trunk should be in my back seat. That was 2 2002s ago.
