At Trenton, Ontario a few years back, the KLT owners got together for a really large gathering for photos. I think at least 50+ KLT1200's showed for the shot! Want to do another? KLT's with trailers this time, too:). Its the only time in recent rally memory that so many have done this, to my recall, so lets do another. You'll never again see so much "heavy" BMW aluminum in one place again. I will post a sight to meet, so keep a look out for the meeting of such:) Any locals there have any suggestions, chime in....The rally site of course is a good starting place to set up for the picture, if room permits. Happy LT'in, Randy13233:clap

+1 There is a lot of open space at the rally grounds. I am sure something can be worked out....

Pick a time, and meet in front of the stage where the closing ceremony is scheduled.

We had so many do this in Canada at the National Rally, so it was a hit indeed. I don't think I've ever seen so many take a group shot like this on one model Beemer at a National Rally. It was cool to see them lined up. I don't remember, but it seemed like 50+ bikes, all KLT's:). I'll try to manage a time for such to happen and/or post it at the rally for those interested. Someone should print up some small cards or slips of paper ahead of time with the time and location for the photo....

Then slide them onto other KLTs that are parked around the rally site.

I like the idea of infront of the stage. Seems like that would be a good central meeting spot. What time of the day does anyone think would be better to take the picture as to not interfear with other activities going on the stage.

I can get them printed up if someone tells me what to put on it.

We should pick a Friday or Saturday time to give everyone arriving a decent time to settle in at the rally, set up, etc...Mid morning would probably be cooler weather, so folks do not get frustrated as we all get set. This takes a little time, as I was part of the Trenton KLT photo. How about Saturday morning at around 10AM and if you see a K1200LT anywhere, leave a quick note or tell the rider about our photo opportunity and show up:). Spread the word. I/we can make cards quickly on our computers/printers and just bring them with us for what Sue suggested:). Lets get a few opinions about the time and place, like the grandstands Sue suggested and pass the word so we all can have the right data to spread the word:) Is my Saturday idea worthy? Lets hear it, sound off! SUE, we have no idea what the sight looks like, so we are depending on your eyes for this help, regarding the grounds. You said already, so the closing ceremony grandstands area sounds good? Is it dirt/pavement? Hard surface for us heavy LT riders! Thanks all....Randy13233/Polarbear

Sat. morning at 10am sounds great. Hard packed surface also sounds pretty good. I will keep watching for updates as to the place. Maybe we can post a note on the board at the rally if anything changes.

Sue, Is there a problem getting a professional photographer lined up for this? Or do we have vendor rules that apply? I would love to have this poster sized in my garage.

Is BeerTeam a professional or is he just very good at it?

Another vote for saturday morning.

BeerTeam is just VERY good at what he does.

As far as getting a pro ... I would recommend asking our rally photographer to help you with this: Dave Reynolds. His contact information can be found on this web page:

And we'll have this photo shoot organized by rally time for real:). Spread the word and all of us KLT'ers will have a hoot at a gang photo shoot. I guess the time will have to come about, soon before the rally starts and be posted. Anybody want to get to the rally early enough to post it in a prominent place? I will arrive from CA sometime, most likely on late Thursday and if I do not see it already posted, I WILL do it myself. I have sign making ability and with little effort, can have one in place/posted somewhere:). Saturday sounds like a most probable day, Yes? So, sometime before the rally, we can post a time here for those reading up:). Happy Trails to all, from "Polarbear" Randy13233, '01 KLT:thumb

Will it matter which way the stage sits in regards to the sun for proper lighting? When figuring out the time to do it?

But, I haven't a clue how things look on site. I have never been there and we must rely on some local info. folks to help with these questions. No to the KLT website postings, as I have never frequented there either. Anybody owning a KLT can have at it, if visiting those sites. Word of mouth will make this a successful photo op and hopefully a 100+ K1200LTs will show:). Bring your trailers, too, if possible. Tow behind, of course, not trailered LTs! We'll have fun:D

Hey everyone:

Just wanted to wish all a safe and fun trip to the Rally. We are leaving on Tuesday and looking forward to the ride. I will watch for the times on the board for the photo shoot. I will have my trailer with me as well, towed behind the bike of course :)

Paul Bachorz does a lot of photos and might agree to do it Sat. He rides an older BMW. I have signed up for a ride on Sat.with the local fireand iron 17 club to raise money for the burn camp. Depends on the time if I can make the photo. Was there in Trenton!

In a previous life I did large group photos and have done panoramic motorcycle groups. The technology to do this has certainly changed for the better. I'll volunteer to help with the project and will send a PM to Dave Reynolds to see what I can do to help. :idea
