Hello everyone,
I'm trying to figure my costs. I rode Hondas for years but haven't had a bike for 7 years now. I'm looking to buy a used BMW. Who do you suggest for insurance? I live in Savannah, Georgia. Is there someone who offers a deal to bmwmoa members?
thanks, sam.

I had the Markel insurance through BMWMOA when I lived in the St. Louis area, which was significantly cheaper than State Farm, which I had used previously.
I moved to Huntsville, AL and Markel became significantly more expensive than Allstate. It probably makes a difference that I have my house and car with Allstate.
I think you have to check around to see what is best for your area.

Each state and even different areas of the same state have considerably different rates. I have had mine through Progressive Direct for years (https://www.progressive.com/) and I have what I consider an excellent rate. My rate for my 86 BMW RT and 2003 R1200CLC is $193 per year for both. That is 100/300 liability with a $100 deductible comp and $250 deductible collision. I am a retired claim free and ticket free homeowner in the sticks with good credit that started with them just after I took a MSF course.
I have mine through Progressive too, and have dealt with them for years. Every year I check many companies for comparison and Progressive beats them all.
YMMV, but it is a free call worth your time.

Just bought a 1985 K100LT. Cheap insurance quotes from both Progressive and bmwmoa insurance. Savannah, GA seems to be fairly inexpensive. No worries. finally a beemer guy after years of rice burners.
