On the main page is a link to the mileage contest. The download form says the entries must be post marked by May 15, 2007.

He's bikeless right now, getting a new bike with Zero miles. We're already a month and a half into the contest. Besides, you can enter the contest and add bikes during the course of the year.:dunno

Let him have chance. JON

I was only responding to your initial question about signing up after your bike arrives. The form I directed you to indicated that the middle of May was the last day to actually sign up. I suppose if you didn't actually have a bike by then, you're SOL. You might also be offered some special dispensation from the Mileage Contest officials for your special situation...I can't speak for them. Possibly, you could enter your "to be" bike with miles to be certified when it does arrive.

It's a "contest", sure, and some do really go all out to be the tops in their state. Others just use the contest as a bit more of an incentive to ride a little more often to different places. You can get noticed for being the "average" rider...I seem to remember the "nice" try category as well. If you're going to get into the contest by mid May, you're going to have to wear out some serious tires in order to catch up to others who got started at the beginning.

At any rate, have fun once your bike arrives...

On the mileage contest web page (http://www.bmwmoa.org/mileage/mileage.htm) there's a link to send Karol Patzer, the mileage coordinator, an e-mail. I don't think she spends much time on this forum so the best bet would probably be to e-mail your question to her.

Any time you add a bike during the year, you can fill out a form and send it in. I thought that has been the previous practice over the years......otherwise no one would buy a new bike between April and October. :laugh
