I have the best uncle in the world. A while back he let me have his 2 old BMWs; A 1986 K100RT and a 1977 R75/7. He didn't ride them anymore and watned to make room in his garage (plus I kept hounding him to sell them to me). Neither of them had run in over 5 years and both still had gas in the tanks and oil in the engine, so I knew it would take a bit of work to get them running again. I decided to start with the K bike because I though it would need less work and be easier to work on. That was before I got a look in the gas tank. So far I have replaced everything in the tank, all the fuel lines, got the injectors cleaned, and changed to coolant and some of the cooling system hoses. Thanks to all the great posts I've read on here it's gone pretty smoothly.
Now I need to know how best to proceed. Here's a list of everything else I plan to do and the order I plan to do it in:

Front End
1. Check/Lube SHBs
2. Change Fork Oil
3. Change Front Brake Pads
4. Check/Lube Front Wheel Bearings
5. Change Front Tire
6. Bleed Front Brakes

Rear End
1. Spline Lube (Clutch and Drive Splines)
2. Change Transmission and Final Drive Oil
3. Change Rear Brake Pads
4. Change Rear Tire
5. Bleed Rear Brakes

Middle
1. Change Air Filter
2. Change Spark Plugs
3. Change Engine Oil and Filter
4. New Battery

My main questions are:
Have I missed anything?
Does the order seem logical?
Any "gotchas" I need to look out for?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

Your experience is similar to the 91 K75 i've restored to running and i'll just say you'll need to check function on all electrical components including the fuel pump, I had to change mine because it was frozen from sitting for about 6 years.:wave

I guess you will know if you got everything when you hit the start button. Good luck, sounds like you are having fun.
