Brittney thinks she owns the place! She can have my spot on the couch and I'll let her watch the Wesminster dog show, but if she thinks she's gettin my glass of 01 cabernet, she's sadly mistaken. Oh yeah, can you tell she's also underfed?

This picture is from a few years back, but nothing much has changed. You know it's bad when there is a chair in the living room that's referred to as "Lucy's chair". :D

never been a big pet guy. never could have them as a child due to a severely allergic mom and as i got older never really wanted something that meant i had to "be around" for it. about a year and a half ago my friend moved and asked me (well, asked my girlfriend, haha) if we wanted his rabbit. she REALLY did, i was REALLY indifferent, so we got him. turns out to be a pretty good pet, low maintenance, you can go away for a few days and just put extra food in the cage, etc. So anyway, we end up getting another one towards the end of last year ("you know hun, rabbits are social animals and i think poor Mr. Hawkeye is bored without a companion", "um, yeah, ok, whatever, but remember they're YOUR rabbits"). So 8 months of two rabbity bliss in the land abundant square footage THEN we move to NYC. now, i like these guys and all, but the combined SIXTEEN sq feet their cages take up is completely unacceptable. so, i like a good pet owner, build them this (ew god, i hate even saying this word) "Rabbitat" out of those bookshelf cubes:

it's dual level and takes up less floor space than two regular cages (i've since eliminated the little litter box alcove and retained just the single big litter box). they seem to enjoy it and even when i open the door they don't really come out as much as they used to. but anyway, i feel like some huge PET DORK with this thing, you know, like those weirdo ferret people on the PBS show that like have a room set aside for their ferret trophies and etched crystal collection or whatever. so yeah, i did this for ME, i'm not a rabbit nerd.:brow

Remember that show, Frazier? Remember the ugly green chair that belonged to his dad? We have that chair....it's Ty's chair. We try to keep it covered with a sheet but he has other ideas. Oh, and yes, he does sleep with one eye open. He's blind in that eye.

My wife took a drawer out of her dresser to re-arrange some stuff and my cat climbed in the empty hole.
