different beers are very picky about what kind of glasses they like to be poured in. i would never trust a place claiming to be a decent beer bar that served a pilsner in a pint glass or a trappist brew in a mug. for me, a bar's glass collection is as important as the beer selection, i also appreciate a place that can match the beer to its properly "logoed" glass.

Waiting outside in the rain before the tour - it rained all weekend.

None of the bottled beer is brewed in Boston - most is brewed in Rochester, NY

Drink up, they are gaining on us.

You would love it in Europe; at least Belgium and The Netherlands. I don't think I EVER had a beer that wasn't in it's correct style glass, with the correct logo on it. I actually went to the trouble of hauling a few back home, actually. My beer glass collection is pretty impressive, I think. :)
Paul, I'll hoist one for you and yours, tonight. Congrats!

I guess drinking a beer out of an aluminum can is totally out of the question here. :nono :bolt

Congratulations to your daughter, Paul, that's a great accomplishment!
You young guys and your beer glasses, you're killin' me! :nyah
Does it taste any different in a pint glass vs. a pilsner glass? Sheesh, a container is a container. Any vessel made of glass is better than a tin cup, but as they say, any port in a storm! :drink
I understand the bit about collecting them, though. My son-in-law is a brewer, and is working on his beer glass collection.
Congrats to your daughter!
You did bring samples didn't you?!?

I can enjoy nearly any beer regardless of style, country of origin, warm, chilled, cold, in a bottle, in an incorrect glass, or even in an aluminum can.:drink
Life's too short to be a beer snob (or any other kind of snob for that matter!)

Sadly I haven't made it to Scotland, yet. The closest I got was London, I guess... unless you count in-flight. :)
BTW: Everyone knows it's Luik, not Liege. :p
Here is a sample of some of my glass collection; these are in the kitchen because I either drink that brand frequently, OR because I drink that STYLE of beer. I also use some of the others as "fancy" glasses for guests, although they're not really that fancy (like the Cristal Alken ones). Coincidentally, I have a good source for Leffe blond, but if ANYONE can get me some bottle of Leffe Bruin, Triple, or Radieuse, I would be eternally in your debt!!!
