Went on a little trek today.

Screwed up and took to small a memory card but here were the keepers. (I kept deleting picts to make room for new ones)

Headed out from home and had lunch in Greenwater on SR410 (towards Crystal Mountain Ski Resort) Hung a left on FS72 and crossed over the ridge ending up on FS7013 and then FS70.

Looking back down towards the White River and Greenwater.

Just a few of the curves and swtichbacks on FS70:

Found snow still on my way up FS70:

Only got a mile further before she ain't goin' no farther: (For those familiar with this area - I was about a mile or less from Government Meadows)

I got out of the snow but took some with me (for a minute):

This is how most of the day looked and most of the roads that I was on:

I did have to come down this before leaving:

Well, there were a few more pictures that I deleted to make room for others.

Couple more weeks of sun and maybe I can make it over the top...

Wow, tough crowd to please here, I thought those were some pretty good shots. 35+ views and not one comment from the peanut gallery. :cry

I'll go back next week and see If I can do better with the lens. :nyah

(Oh it wasn't Harley related, that must be it. :brow )

:wave

I refuse to comment as I am too jealous of you for having such a great ride in such beautiful scenery. :heh

No snow here, maybe some still up higher in the mountains though. Just no time to go seek it out. Holidays are coming soon, so I'll get my chance :clap

Will you be venturing to the PNWGS Rally in Menlo later this year?

See, that's what inviting fellow GSers along is like. Keeping the best bits to yourself. And, I had that time free too.
Still, on Tourances and lugging a fully deck 1150 Adv, we'd have needed a shovel to dig it out of that snow.

I'm looking at the Oregon Tynda weekend on the 22nd-24th of June, near Eugene.
Are you trundling along that way?

Is anyone?

Yes, I'll be there...

Thursday 5/24 FS70 Ride Report Part II

The Big Traillie Ride... Hehehe (Ever seen an R1150GS Adv upside down?)

Took the pig and did it again with a bunch of new friends.

I'd post the ride report as an original but it's bigger than me. Feel free to visit::thumb

Damn, Russ, nice run up that hill!

I got to learn me how to do that. I think the part where you stop before disappearing into the trees is key.

Beautiful photos, looks like it was a great day with a fun group.

Yes, I'll be there...

In which case, I'll make you a cup of tea in appreciation of the pics, but no sugar because I didn't get the ride along invite.
