I have a set of Hella lights that I want to install on my '94 R1100RS.Does anyone have mounting experience such as where is the best place to mount?Forks, under the fairing?cylinder protection bars?(don't have any on my bike). What about brackets?I remember some time ago an article the MOA ON where a fellow mounted some on a K-bike my way(Cheap) but he stated in the article that he was happy with the outcome and it looked clean in the pict.Any thoughts on this?

I would recommend lower then the headlights as some states have laws against having aux lights above the headlight. I have fork mount MotoLights and I am real happy with them

If you're of a mind to make your own mount there are some options, as i found on my 94 R1100RS. I had mounted a fabricated bar between the fairing mounts which located the lights (very small ones) in the juncture of the fairings upper portion and side panels. But I found later that a large bump had compressed the forks and the fender hit one light and broke it.
I later fabricated a flat .25" thick aluminum plate that mounts to the bottom of the upper fairing just below the oil cooler. The plate should be about 14" wide overall. This positions the lights just outboard the fairing and clear of the fender in all positions. I mounted the bar through three holes drilled into the bottom of the upper fairing (was a real trick getting the fasteners in there). Make sure you use flush head screws, because even a hex head on a bolt can get hit by the fender at full fork compression.

This seems to be getting to be a habit. I disagree with Mr. Benn. While he is right about the laws, putting a set of Hella FF50's above the headlight has all but eliminated being cut-off, pulled out in front of, left turned in front of etc. (I have a second set of lights below the headlight too)
I have had several chats with law enforcement, some by the side of the road, others more casual in parking lots. Not one has ever said a single thing about the placement. One commented on them, and I told him it was to be seen better. He felt that was a good thing.

I've run Motolights, and had a great experience with the company. However, I've also run PIAAs, and had a great experience with the company, AND their lights are much brighter and of better construction. Period. Only advantage of Motolights is that the replacement bulbs are free from the company. Initial purchase price is pretty close to the same.
One option is http://cyclegadgets.com/Products/LightKits/detail.asp?bike=R11RS&kit=MFL-R11RS
I went with these on my R11S,
http://cyclegadgets.com/Products/LightKits/detail.asp?bike=R11S&kit=MFL-R11S and i see no reason why they wouldn't work on your RS (unless there are fender clearance issues). The lower mounting gives a greater distance between the headlight and the add ons, which will increase your visibility.
