I'm an Airhead guy and looking to buy an Oil Head. With the Telever front, there is no lower triple tree for mounting points for fairing or windshield brackets. Two questions--Do handlebar fairings and windshields use mounting brackets cantilevered off the top triple tree? Do the RS and RT fairings mount to a bracket attached to the steering neck, like the one on my Airhead RS?

Basically, yes. To the steering neck and to where that steering neck connects to the engine (sort of down where the starter is on the Airheads).

The RS and RT fairings framework are indirectly attached to the engine which is the main frame member of the bike. There is a front frame head that carries the top steering ball-joint, the fairing frame bolts to that on either side.

The touring screen from the fatherland mounts to the bottom of the top yoke (tripple tree) the bottom brackets are on ears that bolt on behind the turn signal stalks , least thats how my 1150r works. in any event it sounds like a good way to explain a rally wknd ,"honestly it's a research project" :groovy
