I could say I rode here but that would be a lie. I did ride
past here this morning and again this evening. Tonight I
walked...living near a downtown does have its advantages.

Sunnyvale is either a suburb of San Francisco (old school) or
San Jose (current thinking). It can lay claim to being the heart
of Silicon Valley. At least in the early years.

Like all older cities, Sunnyvale is working to reinvent itself.
Recently, CalTrain finished a new station. Here are a few
pictures of the station.

How you know you've arrived in Sunnyvale

Like modern city trains, the clock tower has an electronic bell.

The ticketing area is covered but it won't protect you from the
rain :cry

During the day, the tracks are reserved for passenger service
North to San Francisco and South to Gilroy, Garlic Capitol of the
world.

At night, the freighters rule!

Hope you enjoyed a little visit to downtown Sunnyvale, CA.

Canon S50.

I turn the flash off and just point and shoot.

Nice. My hands aren't steady enough to get a clear picture of that sort of thing.

I always seem to get a little blur when I shoot manually.

I passed through Sunnyvale once on a biz trip. Stopped there to gas up the rental car and grab a snack on my way to the airport. Saw a really purty R65LS parked outside the organic grocery.

I see a very nice older BMW on occassion. But I don't know
my models well enough and he is usually going the other way.
One day, I will have the time to flip a U turn and find out. The
bike is in beautiful condition.

Kbasa. I think the bright light of the station helps. I didn't take
any of the downtown area. If it's not raining, maybe I'll try this
evening. You can try holding the camera with both hands and
tight into your body. For added stability, lean up against
a building or MrsKbasa :): Then shoot on the exhale.

The R65LS is a 1980s Airhead with a kind of slender tank and a snarky little "fairing," if you want to call it that- more of just an angular plastic housing around the headlight. The one I saw was silver.

This one is a "/5" looking bike (I had to look through "BMW
Motorcycles" by Holmstrom and Nelson to find anything near
what I see. Though I am not certain.

Great day along the northern California coast for a motorcycle ride...Nothing beats riding in the dense fog beween Davenport and San Gregorio.
