View Full Version : tweaking suspension
I'm on my third season on a '99 Funduro and still trying to get the rear suspension adjusted right. If, when carving into a corner, the bike bounces a little too much on small bumps, should I be turning up or down on the rear adjuster? Any ideas?

Normally you would adjust to increase the rebound and compression damping. Or if it is equipped like the later GS with a remote knob, this would be turned inwards to stiffen the shock and adjust the pre-load.
As it is a '99, I would be curious if they are the standard shocks and how many miles are on them (them being front and back forks and rear shock)? Suspension has a life expectancy and require rebuild and/or replacements after certain mileage or usage histories.

First, go to the FAQs on f650.com and read the suspension parts, then join the Gang to support the FAQs. It sounds to me like damping, not preload, so increase the damping. However, as pudge said, it's likely new shock time.
Cheers, Greg
