Tires?

I regularly ride my 89 R100RT to and from my job as after school bus driver and the garage is on a gravel road. :banghead

Does anyone have advice on a tire that is well suited to both gravel and on-road use? I don't want to give up on-road handling for the somewhat limited, but often necessary off road excursions I have out here in rural MN.:dunno

Back in '95 at the Durango BMW national rally there was a canadian K100RT that had enduro tires on it. I was checking the odometer on that bike. Had over 400,000 miles... or maybe it was kilometers?
Anyways can you use tires for the GS that around that same year of yours?

I have looked at tires in Dennis Kirk for my K bike wondering with the potholes and frost heaves if enduro type tires would be better for minnesota winters. Or even minnesota's other season... Road construction!
