Coolant drain K75....last owner re-installed. Backed it out with the tool shown along side the hex-plug.:clap

What are the threads like? Were they damaged and that caused the PO to strip out the head of the bolt? If the threads are OK you're golden. If not you'll need to either chase them or helicoil them.
FWIW Ace hardware usually has metric threaded hardware in some of their stores. Take the bolt and check to see if they have something that could work until you replace it with factory part.

Threads ok...hex head internally rounded out. This is common with steel to aluminum connections:(

This is a great reason to never use that drain plug. Just remove the lower radiator hose on the right hand side and you'll get most of the old coolant out.

Thought about it...but HATE having faulty hardware. With the right tool and some determination things can be made right...almost sounds like the history of this great country of ours:usa

That's a neat tool. I take it they are available in a full set of sizes?
Of course, I never need such a thing until the stores are closed or I am far from home.

8 sizes ...this is from Craftsman. Originally made to remove bolts with the corners rounded off, but work just as well on internal hex head fasteners since the outside edge is already round:)

Sometimes someone will attempt to loosen a metric fastener with an inch hex wrench, and booger it up.
