my new to me r1150ra has a mystery connector under the seat. i was checking my rear brake fluid level today, and got pissed about the fact that it isnt easy to remove the fill cap without disassembling the side body panel from the bike. while i was sticking my fingers in there to loosen the cap i noticed a little connector. it's a two-prong connector with green wires. one is green with a white stripe, which i assume is ground. i checked the voltage with the key in the on position and it was a measly 300mV. now that im writing this i realize i shouldve checked when pressing the brake and doing a few other things. i'll go do that, but i have to ask - anyone seen this connector before and know what it is for? im about to go do a search for wiring diagrams, but if anyone has info, please let me know.
thanks.

Sounds like the MoDiTec connector, which the dealer uses to read diagnostic faults and other information from the Motronic brain.

Do you know why Bosch calls it the Motronic? It's the third iteration, and it's better than the Larrytronic and the Curlytronic that preceded it. (brazenly stolen from Click and Clack, the Tappet Bros.)

I'm not sure what the connector is, but on BMWs the ground is almost always a brown wire.
Doesn't the R have a little slot in the side cover so you can look in and check the fluid level?

yeah, it does but i was having a hard time seeing the fluid. after my tire idiocy, im being hard headed and thoroughly checking things out, so i decided to remove the cap so i could look down from the top and see actual fluid. i eventually got it, and it wasnt the end of the world for me. :)

It could be the connector for the solinoid controlling the cannister. Did you buy the bike used? My bet is the former owner did a "cannisterectomy".
