View Full Version : Ponds, swimming, and fishing...
Okay.
1. I can serve my minor child alcohol.
2. There are fitness facilities nearby.
3. North is up.
There seem to be ponds on the rally grounds.
Is fishing allowed in the ponds? (I assume I need a license)
Are there fish in the ponds?
Is swimming allowed?
If there are no fish, can I just try and catch swimmers without a license?
Given our average age, I shall not inquire about any possible SD-ing.

Is fishing allowed in the ponds? No Fish --- but lots of Goose-Poop. (Think about it. Eee---yew!)
Is swimming allowed? Again - refer to the Goose droppings note, above. DOUBLE Eee---yew!
If there are no fish, can I just try and catch swimmers without a license? Definitely not a swimming hole.

Red,
Catch and release is the only way, but I'm not opposed to a few pictures holding them up by the lips.

...if there are no fish, can I just try and catch swimmers without a license?...
I didn't know swimmers needed a license!

I knew as soon as I submitted that reply that my old high school english teacher would point out the unclear antecedent and I would be subject to ridicule by my peers. Sorry, my gramma is usually gooder. :nyah

if you intentionally kill a goose in the off season, hell hath no fury like the Wisconsin DNR scorned.......they have personnel sitting in pick up trucks a half mile away with spotting scopes so powerful that they are able to count your unshaven whiskers.
And other things , too.
In any event working the Chicago MOA booth was fun, and I look forward to seeing you in July.

This reminds me of the Lima Rally. I chose to arrive Friday (to avoid the bad weather Thursday night), and the only camping left in the "quiet camping" area was near the horse track. I guess they must have walked the horses around the outside of the track, because the entire area was covered in road apples.
Maybe someone can use a leaf blower and clear the goose crap off into the pond before the rally starts....
Just an idea.

Um, at the risk of making myself look incredibly young and naive, HUH?
As for the ponds, I wonder if they're as nasty as the ones at Lima were.

Any decent WI bar that serves food has a Friday fish fry, must be one near the Rallye

Most bars in Wisconsin serve a Fish Fry on Friday. Go to the one that is most crowded. I will see if I can find some and I will post them here.
BTW, Sue is correct about the ponds. Hi Sue!
