Comrades:

Anyone know the standard inside diameter of the stock fuel lines on the K75? I am considering some aftermarket quick-disconnects for my fuel tank. The system I am looking at is sized at 1/4" and 5/16" ID fuel line. Would these potentially fit the K75?

Mine are 5/16"

Ditto on the 5/16. When I replaced mine (about every year because of gasahol) I just took an old one to the auto parts store and asked for same diameter in fuel injection grade hose. The darn stuff isn't cheap either!!! :banghead

I believe it's actually 6mm. And the 5/16" quick disconnects should work fine.

I think OEM hose is labeled as 8 mm, which is almost exactly 5/16 inch.

Amigos:

I looked at the extra fuel line I've got in the old parts drawer at home and it is indeed 8mm (labeled on the line itself!) ID which translates to 5/16" (near enough) and thus I have ordered the quick disconnects. I got them on-line for about 1/2 the price of what the dealers charge - MAX BMW was at $31 each, I got these for $17 each plus a couple of bucks for shipping.

Where on line did you order the quick disconects?

The disconnects are made by Motion Pro and I ordered from Cyclepages:

Mike, you raise an interesting point.

I found my local BMW dealer's shop lop had actually installed trans cooler line in my fuel tank, as indicated by the markings on the hose. It did not stand up well.

The standard SAE 30R9 fuel injection line is certainly better able to withstand the pressure of a FI system than 30R7 carb fuel line, but is not intended for submersion.

Fuel line for submerged fuel injection application must meet SAE 30R10 specs and be so marked. I use Gates 27093 now. It seems to be standing up well.
