What is the best Metzler tire to use on my K1200LT the ME880 or the Roadtec Z6. Can I use the Roadtec Z6 radial instead of the bias ply ME880?

The Z6 would probably dissolve under the weight of an LT. The 880 works great.

Nearing the 100K mark on my KLT now, with 880s almost all the way from the start. They clearly get great mileage for me and handling is a no issue, too. Wife and me, towing 250lb. trailer get almost 10000 on the rears(No trailer to 12000 miles) and the fronts go forever. My last front nearly hit 20000 miles easily. I felt bad and changed it out, thinking it had enough:). One thing though! BMW has had issues in there R and D department wondering which way to go regarding radials vs. bias tires on the KLTs. BMW has changed their mind twice, since I've had my KLT. Do your homework with your dealer! I've had no problems, either way. Happy Trails, Randy13233:usa

I have had both radials and bias ply tires on the 05 LT I had, and I had no issues with either. The 880's are the way to go IMHO as they carry the heavier loads better than the Z6. YMMV
