'02 K12 abs problem....

While helping a friend, we accidently keyed his K12 while doing a rear brake pad service. The servo assist proceeded to pump most of the brake fluid out of the rear. :doh

He know the bike has to be taken to BMW for a brake bleeding, but will the brake system be completely unoperational? Will we be able to limp the bike to the dealer(about 20 miles)? Find another way to get it there? Will the fronts be operational, or are they compromised also?

Fronts will be fine fluid-wise, but if the computer is unhappy with the rear situation it might shut everything down. If he fires it up and has front servo action, he should be OK.

If it fires up it should be ok. But the ABS system will likely record a fault and shut down. Normal braking on the front should be there.

But be very careful and assume you don't have any rear brake, which most likely you do not.
