R850r Mpg?

Hi, all. Wondering if any of you who own the 850's could shed some light on their gas consumption? Thanks in advance!:bikes

My sister has a 97 850R. This summer in VT, she consistently got 55mpg.

I was getting 45 - 50 mpg before the tuneup. Still getting a tuneup. Can't wait to get it back!

I just sold my r 850 R with a bunch of miles and multiple cross-continent trips. I consistently got about 45 mpg with a huge set of Jesse Bags and an Aeroflow setup with lowers. In Canada, where I had to slow to 60 mph on my last trip to Alaska, I got about 50. In town about 40. My 1150 RT gets better gas mileage, probably because it runs slower and is more aerodynamic.

Was the canister and pre-muffler removed? Mine sat up for years and has low miles but loer than 45 mpg..
