Does anyone have experience and/or recomendations for mounting/installation locations of an Autocom system on the new GS's? There isn't much room available. Any input would be appreciated. This one will be used for satellite radio and FRS.
Thanks

not a GS, but have two different methods on RT's and one of the R's
I hardwired the Autocomm "brain" under the seat on the RT and put my two-way and IPOD in the tankbag. when not using the tankbag, the radio interface cord and headset leads tuck under the seat.
On the R , I got the power leads that allow all hardware to be carried in tankbags. when I disconnect, just one lead is under the seat. Both setups have the optional PTT instead of VOX only for the two ways
hopefully you find a solution , easy if you use a tankbag

Appreciate the input. I am considering the tank bag option with the power leads. I have heard that the autocom unit will fit under the seat (somewhere?). Would like to consider all possible options before I commit to the wiring.
Thanks

I just placed my autocom under the seat of my 1150RT. Fits very nicely. I will post some pictures for you later this weekend. Easy install, just read and follow the instructions.

I put my Autocom under the seat. Tied into the TT CANbus helper so that I can have the switched option for the MP3 and GPS.
MP3 and GPS cables are run from up front with no problems. Great setup for both two up and solo. I have the option for both tunes (switched so that the 15 year old pillion doesn't subject me to songs with subliminal messages) and directions from the GPS (so that I remember where I'm going).
Great setup in my opinion.

I have done 5 autocom installs on GS/A's - all have been under the seat in the spot where the manual goes secured with the same black rubberband. It makes for a very clean install. I use a zumo so I just run one wire up front to hook to that. I also use a 2 way radio - that goes under the seat where your tool kit came. For power, I tapped into the acc outlet.

I don't hardwire mine. I just put it, my ipod, and frs in a small Cortech tank bag which has a Powerlet connect mounted on the bag with a splitter inside the bag that powers the Autocom and whatever else needs charging. The lead plugs into the bag and runs to the plug on the beak. Then I just take the bag with when you want to get off the bike. Plus you can use it on multiple bikes. http://www.powerletproducts.com/products/ptb.php

I have an RT and have plenty of room under the seat, however, it seems to impractical messing with volume and plugging in other gagets so I just keep it in my tankbag for easy access.
