Which fuel hose leads from the fuel pump inside the tank, the one with the male or the female quick disconnect fitment?

Thanks.

Well just using an educated guess I'd say the female comes from the tank. If the fittings are anything like air hose fittings and it would seem there should be some sort of standard the female would have a checkvalve in it that wouldn't allow fuel to flow unless triggered by the male fitting (What is this? Some sort of Birds and bees talk???:laugh )

Best of luck!

Well just using an educated guess I'd say the female comes from the tank. If the fittings are anything like air hose fittings and it would seem there should be some sort of standard the female would have a checkvalve in it that wouldn't allow fuel to flow unless triggered by the male fitting....That makes sense. So the parallel hose with the fittings going the other way carries fuel back to the tank.

Since I broke one of these male ends when I had to remove my fuel tank, I carry an extra in my ditty bag. I also carry a siphon hose on longer trips. Is there any reason why I can't stick the male end on the siphon hose, insert the male into the <gasp> female, put the siphon hose in a bike with an empty tank, and turn on the ignition to give a colleague some gas?
