Hi Sector, :wave
It looks like you had a great weekend ride. Matole road was a lot of fun last fall when I was on it. Even with the gravel surprises. I want to go back when I have more time to explore. Wilder ridge road and Kings peak road looked like fun on the map but I didn't have the time.
I would love to see more pictures. Four pics of scenery such as that are just enough to wet the appetite.
What road is that in post #6 (heading to 101 from Mendecino)? Comptche-Ukia road? Inquiring minds want to know. :)

Hi Darren! Good to hear from you.
:wave The blurry dirt road shot was of Kings Peak Rd. I got there via wilder ridge rd. In both cases I was very glad to be on my GS! And you got it. The last pic was of the Comptche-Ukia road. I do have more photos of the ride, so maybe I'll post them here...

Sorry you missed it! However, you would have been hankerin for a F650GS, an affliction I know you are trying to fight off right now.

Heading home, 101 N (alternate) avenue of the giants. Well, I did pass a few big trees along the way, but not here.

Thanks for posting these. Comptche-Ukia rd. looks like fun. I wish I'd have gone that way.

Your post brings back memories of my trip through the Lost Coast last February.

The wind was howling at 40-50 mph, this was one of the few spots I could get off the bike and have it stay upright.
My intention is to go back in early June and find Usal Road on the way down to visit my mom in San Luis Obispo.

Ahh yes, I recognize that section of pavement. In June you can look forward to howling winds, but from the opposite direction, blowing 30-40. A notch down :) Enjoy your ride!
