When I clean My 05 1200RT, I use spary cleaner like "plexus" (and some others). After doing my best I notice a white residue on the black plastic parts. How do I clean them? Thanks in advance for your kind suggestions.

For quick cleanup I use the Honda spray detailer works well no residue, it might just be a relabeled can of pledge, but it works well. I had a black truck once and the finish was VERY finicky - only a couple of different waxes would not leave a white haze. You may have to compound (or clean) the finish and then wax. For a more lasting finish I use Mothers cleaner and then their paste wax. For the black plastic I use another Mothers product, don't remember the name, that also works well.

Plexus is OK for the painted and acrylic pieces. On the flat black pieces on the RT, like the air intake covers and non painted fender section ,Plexus seems to have alcohol in it and takes any treatment off and leaves a dry white appearance. I use Meguiar's Natural Shine spray, it is like Armorall , but I like it better. It brings the older side cases back from dullness.
and a DUH:banghead reminder...keep it off the sidewalls!!

Call your local Honda dealer and see if they carry "Honda Glare Polish." If so, it's worth the money. It'll go one anything and everything, including chrome, without any problems. Do it twice; the first time acts sort of like a compound/polish, the second time seals and shines. Doesn't take long, it's just a motorcycle, after all...and the shine will last for ages. Makes it much easier to wash road spooge off. I did my Goldwing a year ago, and it still looks great.:thumb :thumb
I will say I even used it on the windshield, but after the first rain (700 miles of it) I went back to using Plexus on the shield.
The Glare is not the spray stuff people have been using on Hondas for years, it's a new product they've licensed from the originator.

Mothers "Back to Black" works on any non painted plastic. I recently did all of the black plastic (except the windshield) on my 99' RT and it looks better than new. An old toothbrush and some Q-Tips are your friend...and yes...I do have a life!:laugh
