It seems the wonderful ST is in short supply, two dealers have told me they can't get any shipped to North America. (?) Does anyone know why, or is this false? Thx!

Well, sort of. The ST is only available in NA by special order. I have one on order; it was built last month and is supposed to dock in New Jersey on Tuesday. They're not bringing any of them in otherwise. This may also be true in some of the European markets. The ST has not been a hot seller (putting it mildly), perhaps because of it's "controversial styling". But it doesn't bother me, I've test ridden it a couple times and think it will be a great bike.

Mic:
Blackfoot Motosports in Calgary have a 10,000 km unit on the floor for $16,999. It will still have warranty left. Contact Allan Johnson if you're interested.

Talking at the BMW display at the local MC Show last month, I was told that Feb 28th was the last date to even be able to special order an R1200ST. Which makes me wonder - does anybody know what the sales figures were worldwide for that model? I know it was a sales bust in the US - which is a shame because it was the bike I was saving up for.
'Course the hot rumor to start is that the ST is going to be replaced soon with an R1200R Sport, kinda like the K1200R Sport. Which could make sense from a sales-vs-cost point of view. I have a hard time believing BMW would abandon the sporty side of the Sport-Touring market, but an R-R with a half fairing would be much cheaper to produce than a model with all unique bodywork and bars. And after riding an R1200R, I'd be VERY happy with that combination.
