Now that we are at that time of year, I just wondered what your favorite Christmas song might be. Mine is "Santa Claus wants some lovin' " by Albert King. I also like "thats what I want for Christmas" by Lena Horne. (Guess you can see I like Blues).

"Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" by Elmo and Patsy followed by "I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Clause" by Kip Addotta. It's just not Christmas without em! :jester

For the motorcyclists / guitarists on your list, I recommend the following:

The Ventures' Christmas Album
Fancy Dog's Rockin' Christmas

Ah...California motorcycling in December...nothing could be better!

I'll second that vote for Lehrer.

And for me it just ain't XMas without those barking dogs doing Jingle Bells.

But other than that I really hate Chirstmas music. Not because I'm some kind of Scrooge, but because I worked for three years during college in a department store. A WHOLE MONTH OF HEARING IT ALL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every recorded version of Jingle Bells *EXCEPT* the barking dogs! EVERY DAMN DAY!!!!!! Every crappy recording of every crappy Christmas song you can imagine!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHED!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry. I do still wish you all a very merry Christmas, just don't play the records around me...

I'd hate to see what would have happened if those dogs had been barking.....

I'm rather ambivalent about this season. Seems that so many people appear to forget how to drive, and turn into blithering idiots starting in October. They can't remember how to walk, become rude, all for xmas.

However, my favorite music rendition of a carol would be the second organ solo from In-a-Gadda-da-Vida. If you listen to the music you will hear a Christmas carol.

Also much in favor of anything by the Chipmunks.

Hey Veg,
I feel your pain! I have played Santa for many retail establishments over the years and I understand the monotony of the continuous loop Christmas Carol montage they inflict upon the weary workers. It is truly madness! Madness I tell you !!!

Ok, I feel better now (recomposes myself).

Veg, may I suggest you pick up "Dr. Demento Presents The Greatest Christmas Novelty CD OF All Time" from Rhino Records Inc. This CD may help you ease back into the soothing realm of the Holiday music decorum.

The CD includes the Singing Dogs performing Jingle Bells, The Chipmunk Song, and many other "jolly" (twisted) Christmas carols. I highly doubt you heard any of these songs while working in the "joyous" throng of department store hell for the holidays!

Merry Christmas too all!

And may Santa bring us all some lovely gifts for our motorcycling enjoyment! (I wonder if a new motorcycle can fit down my chimney?)

Thanks DDH! And I'll recommend Bob Rivers and Twisted Radio's I Am Santa Claus. This is the guy who does all those send-ups you hear on rock stations, like "Walking 'Round In Women's Underwear," "Teddy The Red-Nosed Senator" and such.
