I have decided to get aluminum panniers for my R1150R. Any recommendations? I reviewed both the Jesse and Happy Trails web sites. A phone call to Jesse this morning was less than helpful--seems like they did not care to do business with me. Said they rarely sell them for my bike and could not answer any questions.
I have seen pictures of Happy Trails bags on bikes and they also seem to have a mount for a Givi top case. Any experience with these folks?
Also, does anyone know if these bags will also fit the R1200R.

I have Happy Trails on my GS. Well made and sturdy. They look like they belong on a GS but, IMO, a little industrial (?) for a roadster, if that makes sense. I'm dealing with them on an issue, brought on by my stupidity. :violin I'll let you know about their service.

I was the first person to put Jesse Panniers on an R1150R. They fit fine - use the GS mounts with one minor easy modification.
So if you have questions I can probably answer them.
If you have decided against them, that's OK too.

I had Happy Trails cans on my 1150R, loved 'em. I like them better than the Jesse cans because of the flat top. It made it easier to strap even more stuff on top of them and they could be easily taken off and used as camping tables.
They do require a little relocation work for the rear turn signals when I got them, but that was several years ago.

There is an easy to install lowering kit that came with the Happy Trails cans.

Do a search of this forum on "Jesse luggage on R1150R." There are photos.

The R1150R and the 1150GS have the same exhaust location, and most of the panniers I have seen have a cutout for the exhaust.
