I have an R60US that I am working on, (looking to be ready for early spring riding!) and I am in need of some parts. Are there any good sources of reproduction or used (or even NOS) parts that you all have used? Thanks for any tips!

IMO, you best source is Vech in Mississippi at

You could also try Bob's BMW at http://www.bobsbmw.com

Kurt in S.A.

Don't forget to check with your local dealer. If the parts guy knows what he is doing, they should be able to get almost anything you need. Francis down at Cliffs certainly know the /2 bikes very well.

Check out the links and resources at the Vintage BMW Motorcycle Owners club (VBMWMO) (http://www.vintagebmw.org) for a long list of suppliers and people that service these machines.

But Craig Vechorik (http://members.aol.com/vechbmw2/partno.html) is your number one place to go. Craig (or "Vech") has given back more than anyone else I know, and has free tech consulting hours (but don't call on the 800 number for this, ok?)

BMW Mobile Tradition makes a wide range of parts available through the dealer parts network, but a lot of dealers aren't aware of this. (They put out a beautiful, glossy booklet with some great historical photos as well as a listing of the parts available.)

If you need to buy a lot of parts at once, it may be cheaper to go to Mark Huggett of BMW Classic Motorcycles (http://www.bmwbike.com) in Switzerland. Mark is the source for most of the Mobile Tradition parts. His prices are cheaper any of the domestic suppliers (after converting to Swiss Francs), but the shipping will eat you alive, and the Swiss Post is none too fast.
