Stupid Pet Trick #147 - Instrument panel glows red?

OK, call me old-fashioned, but I'm used to BMW cars having a red glow to the instrumentation. Why is the K-bike instru panel green?

More importantly, has anyone else seen this glaring omission (pun intended) and changed the green glow to red? Answers on a postcard, please.

There are little rubber tinted condom things that go on your bulbs. Buy another set of bulbs and paint them with fingernail polish to whatever color you like instead of fitting the little condom things.

If you're, ahem, a more experienced rider, it's worth noting that as we age our eyes get less able to see red.

I repair Periscopes for the Navy and we use the little red condom looking things on top of the lights used to light up the telemeter lense inside the Periscope. Be sure to use someting like five minute epoxy to keep them in place. Green just wouldn't look right while looking through a Periscope and red is easier to see from the visible light spectrum for most people.
