Okay,
I know I'm dying of beemer withdrawl and have :bluduh ,in desperation, succumbed to finally removing my 1150 GS's tool kit figuring out what those crafty folks at BMW have engineered them to go together and how I can throw the current tray out the window. Rather just roll em all up or something... Annnyway...
Can anybody tell me what function the tool that looks like a one inch square of plastic with two perpendicular side tabs and a 3/4 inch bar between them has? It looks like half a chain link stuck to a flat plastic square (and I'm not referring to the spark plug lead remover).
Enquiring minds want to know!!

Sounds like the tool which fits over the end of the spark plug cap (after removing the 6" long external cover), and allows the removal of the plug cap without pulling on the HT wire.
That's for riding without the rear seat. It slides in the plastic cover and locks down the tool cover. You would then have to use the key to remove the cover. You can't use it with the rear seat in place. The seat has the locking piece on it already :wave

Tool cover lock eh? I knew it was some clever device that was beyond my comprehesion. Now on to finding something else to puzzle about to kill under hour...maybe I'll set up the tent in the living room to assure all is ready for the rally :thumb
Thanks !

I'm still looking for the clutch bleeder. Where the hell is it. I've seen pictures, been told where to look, had the seat, rear wheel off and still can't find it.

It's been two years, but if I remember right, it's on the right side of bike at the end of a short hose & it's taped to the frame so you can't see it. :brow
