I am considering switching from my '04 RT to an '07 GSA. I would be interested in any comments about the change from anyone who has done the same.

Check out some previous threads on this subject. From my perspective, the GS is a whole lotta fun! The RT will remain as a stalwart workhorse and when I want to ride 2 up . . . but the GS is just a kick-in-the-pants fun bike to ride.

Just made the switch from a 1150 RT to a 1200GS. Although I did give up some protection I also gave up about 100lbs and the 1200's engin is great. I picked up the bike last week and already have over 1,000 miles and haven't looked back in regret. If you want something a bit lighter, great handling, loads of fun and a bike you can take anywhere you might want to consider the switch. Good luck with your decision. hoodtex out

Well, the decision has been made. I'm picking up the new GSA on Tuesday. Thanks for the input.

I've been wrestling with the same issue. My 02 RT seems to be perfect for me right now. When I was searching for my bike I had to decide RT or GS. I knew I would always wonder about the other no matter which way I went. Here's how I rationalized the RT over the GS.

I still have to work which involves buttloads of travel. So the RT was the way for me. Plus if I did go the GS route, I would be like a soccer mom in a Hummer. Yea I would get on the trails once or twice, but highways were my big concern. After 2 round trips Florida to California last year, I knew the RT was the solid choice.

But I still can't get that GS out of my system. Then a thought!!!! A light if you will...:idea
I'll get a new GS....and keep the 02 RT too... Brilliant!!!!!

Then the old soccer mom cliche pops up. So here's the latest. Find a new to me early GS, and get a schpankin' new 1200RT. And if my wife's not paying attention, keep the 02 too..yea right.

But here's another rub. Just got back from a morning ride. There's nothing wrong with my bike. Runs out great and still has a high CDI factor. (Chicks Dig It)

You know when I was young and didn't have any money, my choices were simple. I had none.

Glad you got off the fence. I'm still up here. Won't Somebody give me a nudge?

Hey I can see my house from here.

Oh yea! Loose the luggage, push the little button to lay the windscreen back, and all the gals at Starbucks swoon.:kiss

Truth be told, today a very attractive woman complemented me on how quite it was. Then after having a closer look, she said she thought it would have been bigger. :doh
