I am a brand spanking new (and PROUD!) owner of a 2007 1200RT, and member of MOA. I'm hoping that someone out there can lend some sage advice regarding purchasing a service manual.

I see quite a few listings for 1200RT CD manuals on ebay, but wonder if purchasing one of these for let's say a 2005 model year would be okay, as opposed a 2007 rated manual? The price difference between the two is quite significant.

Thanks in advance for the input.

Congrats on the new RT Sean!! :thumb
I bought the manual (CD) from my local dealer (very expensive) and it covers my (2005) R12ST, as well as the RT and GS. I have heard of some cheap (assume pirated) copies on e-bay, but I personally would not trust the quality.
I have read elsewhere in this forum that the best price on a "legal" version is from Motobins.
I have not seen any aftermarket (Haynes, Clymer) manuals for my bike yet.

Happy riding!

For one thing, the brakes on the '07s are different than the ones on an '05. Don't know whether you care about that. It ('05 manual) obviously would not cover any of the other design changes that have taken place either. Again, that may not be important to you.
