Hello; I have a 77 R100/7 which has a black alternator cover and a pair of black rocker covers, I've never seen thes combinztion on asny other BMW and wonder if it was something that they tried for just one year or is it something that a previous owner did.

Has anyone else seen this combination?

I have black rockers on my 84 R100RT.They are getting quite beat up so I plan to repaint them.

I've seen them with black rocker covers, but haven't noticed the front cover.

If you need to repaint them, I've found that PJ-1 Satin Black is an almost exact match.

Yep. Spray paint. You should be able to find it at a bike shop.

Comes in a yellow can. I painted the rocker covers on my old RS with it and also used it for the fork brace on my K75C.

Nope, the 77 came with a plain ol' aluminium cover...and
plain rocker covers as well....except on the RS and RT, which had black rocker covers as I recall. Your black front sounds like a home customizing. Hey, I once say one with blue rocker covers.
In 78, the /7 "specials" had black rocker covers as well.
