/6 trans drain plug crush washer?

Last time I changed the gear oil in my /6, there wasn't a crush washer, just the plug. Should there be a crush washer there? It appears to be weeping a bit of oil from the drain plug...

All of our Airheads ('71, '74, '86) have crush washers on the tranny drain plug.

All of the drain and fill plugs should have crush washers. The old style is hollow copper, which crushes to fit. So, use a new one every time. The later style is solid aluminum, and can be re-used as long as the surface is smooth.

Yeah, the one the dealer sold me was aluminum. I had a few copper ones in my jacket, I just couldn't remember...at any rate, there's no leaks, I've put about 500 miles since...I don't recall ever seeing aluminum in the past (I've had the bike since new).
