OK the new cruiser finally developed the dreaded "wobbly turn signals" on the front. I decided go ahead and do all four so as to not face the same problem again. Both front housings were beginning to move noticeably while going down the road. I have put together a sequence of photos following the original fix that I performed on my '99 way back in 2000. Here (http://www.chromeheads.org/discus/messages/6/83612.html?1162775991) is a link to where I have posted the new set of pictures in the thread where the fix is described in detail. My post #296 dated Nov. 18, 2003 is copied from another thread that ran in 2000. Then my post #1358 dated Nov. 5, 2006 has the pictures with additional text.
I don't know what other BMWs have these weak plastic turn signals but I have noticed that the R--Rs and the R--GSs appear to have the same type housings. If so, keep an eye on them and file this away for future reference should they ever get wobbly or break.
