R1150GS Gas Mileage Update - As promised

OK, like I said in recent threads, I'm new to the 2001 R1150GS. Two weeks ago, I was experiencing 39 MPG (avg. 75 mph) and heavy surging. After applying the recommendations from the forum membership, I replaced the air filter, adjusted the valves (4 guage system) and sync. the throttle bodies (twin max). Suring reduced greatly, and now experiencing 45 MPG (avg. 75 MPH). At the recommendation of another froum member, next thing to do is replace the spark plugs. By the way, the 39 MPG and 45 MPG are with the bags attached.
