I have a 87' K75C. Its time for new brakelines, mine are showing too much wear. I want to go with Steel brake lines, but when I asked BMW about it they didn't have anything to offer. So, I'm coming to you guys, where have you been and who do you sugest. Thanks.

Galfer make good products too and you can order via the web for almost any brand and they make custom lines too with a fast turnaround.

One note though that may be of interest. The advantage of the braided lines is certainly noticeable in terms of wear and abrasion resistance, although don't expect any real performance advantage to be noticed. It is a subtle difference rather than an obvious one, unless of course your old lines were flexing at every brake pull. I just installed some braided lines on an 80's bike with soft hoses and even then there was only a slight difference really in terms of stopping, the main difference was the firmness of the pedal and lever.

The new lines that I ordered are smoke coloured and look similar to the OEM at a quick glance by design, although you can order any colour you want now it seems at no additional cost.

When I bought my K75S it already had steel lines on the front. I replaced the original rear line with one from Spiegler and the quality was excellent. Fit correctly, looks good, no issues at all.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to go with the lines from spieglerusa. I can’t decide if I should go with the black lines or the blue lines to match the bike. I don’t want the blue lines to make it look too cheezy or anything. If I like my results I will try to post the pictures and let you know how my transaction goes with spieglarusa. Thanks again.

Here are my Spiegler brake lines, red on a blue k75s. Make sure you have the correct length when ordering, especially for the front.

It looks like your lines run through your fender, or is that an optical illusion?
Where does it come up then?

Each brake line goes thru fender cutouts and up to the "Y-pipe" at the bottom of the steering stem.

I never noticed that difference between 75s and 100s, I guess it is.
Thanks.

I think I discovered a new topic for the forum- take a picture of your bike at a weird angle, or of an obsure part of your bike and let people guess what kind of bike it is.
