Has anyone come up with a way or place to add a stereo to the new GT without headphones, tank bag or bluetooth? Love the ride- it's more like the RT should be but I need a stereo and don't care too much for the new look of the RT.

You do like the ride? Did you go from an RT to the GT? How long have you had it and have made any long trips? I ask because I am considering trading my RT for a GT but after the test ride last week I felt that it was more of a sport than a tourer. I like long distance and many hours in the saddle. I'd hate to buy that and find that I made a biggg mistake. Too late to get my RT back.

Scrimineagle---------I am considering the same-------I like the 1200 RT which I have ridden (I have 1150RT) but wonder if I would like the 1200GT $3500 more------I hope more people with them will chime in thanks Apple

As for the stereo, I pipe XM into a J&M system. Works for me.

As to the change of bikes, that's what I just did. Traded a '05 R12RT with 24,000 of great sMiles on it on a '07 K12GT. The GT is a little bit more sportier than the RT but not nearly as bad as it looks. Riding home with it the first time I had the seat in the low postion. That cramped me up too much. I've since moved it up to the high side and that alone helped my legs. I'm 5'8" with a 29" inseam.

I'm looking forward to my trips on the GT. In fact my wife rode it the other day and wants to trade her R11RS in on one before we head off for a cross country trip next summer.

Best,

That's the critter! Just finished installing the electronics last night and the weather went to heii. But, no matter what, I'm headed to the Ozarks tomorrow to rid it of the chicken strips.

Great bike, Rob. I am sure you will enjoy it! Plug in your electric vest though....yesterday's 80's became today's 40's. That's life in the Ozarks.

Please post a ride report of your impressions of the new K bike. :wave

Thanks for the replies, I currently have a 93 K1100LT and enjoy it but I really miss the 2003 R1150 RT with stereo I used to own but sold in a moment of ignorance when I finally got my dream job of riding a motor all day at work. Thought I wouldn't ride that much when I was off and sorely missed it after a short time. I don't care for the look of the new 1200RT for some reason but the new 12GT is sweet. I think what I need to do is just find another 2002-2004 RT. I was just trying to imagine the new 12GT as an RT hybrid when it just isn't possible.
