Last week I received a PM from Jonathan Tessler. He's visiting from NY and working in the East Bay and wanted to hook up for a couple of beers. My friend in Oakland, Peter and I met Jon for dinner and we planned a ride for Saturday morning. Jon rented a R1200RT from Dubbleju in San Francisco.
We departed 8am and took Redwood Road to Palomares Rd into Livermore where we stopped for coffee and hooked up with our other friend Murray on his K100RS.

Everywhere I go I end up meeting other MOA members.

You could eat off of the engine it was so clean.

Jon Tessler makes to the top of Mount Hamilton without having to use his liability insurance.
I've seen this look before. He wants to get home to change his underwear.

On top of Mount Hamilton is the James Lick Observatory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lick_Observatory). We wandered in and got the tour. This 36" telescope was the world's most powerful for 9 years.

James Lick (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Lick) owned a lot of land in California. He was the Tom Vu (http://infomercial.tvheaven.com/tomvu.htm) of his time. Check out that beard. You don't see beards like that around anymore.

Down Mt. Hamilton we decended into San Jose where we split up.

Approaching Mt. Hamilton from the east side is much more fun than the reverse. It was a beautiful day and a great ride. It's always great to meet people from the MOA forum.
