I have an 05 RT and I had a few scrapes on the bottom half of both valve covers. After paying $17.00 for a very, very small touch-up paint from BMW that did not match. I went to Home Depot and got a 3 oz. rustoleum Americam Accents Silver Metallic spray can(209678). After filling in a few spots and light sanding of the half of the valve cover, I gave it a few coats. The next day a few more coats. When it was dry, I had a very good match. The cost of the paint at Home Depot was $1.98.

Lets see what happens when you take the RT on a long ride. The jugs get really hot and the paint may still peel off. keep us posted on your repair.

I am a big fan of the Harley Davidson Wrinkle Black. I have used it on the bike for years with great success. It has a wrinkle look, which hides imperfections great, it is relative expensive at $12.00 a can, but goes on very even and it allows temperature to escape... therefore it is great on motors...... but then again black and a Harley product is not everybodies cup of tea... but it WORKS.... :drink :eat my food for thought anyway, if it peels...
