The dealer's service guy told me he thought that the drum brake shoes for the 75c were the same as you could find in the local auto parts store. Does anyone know if this is true, or am I stuck having to buy BMW's outrageously expensive version?

:dunno

The first set of BMW pads lasted 20 years, right? So they really aren't that expensive when you think of it that way. :laugh

We had a guy wear out his brake drum on a K75 once. The drum comes with the wheel. Now that's a piece of change...

True....Though I'm pretty sure they should have been swapped out YEARS ago judging from the mess I found in there. ;)

I forget what it looked like...aluminum wheel with a steel insert...insert worn thru I guess. Anyway there wasn't any doubt about needing a new wheel to go with the new shoes.
