Alonso is 10 points ahead in the drivers championship as he wins the Japanese GP (http://www.formula1.com/race/result/768/8.html) and Schumacher is a DNF with engine failure.

I think that Alonso has to finish in the first eight in Brazil to guarantee winning it.

I believe if the points end up equal, Shumacher will be the champion because he has more wins.

I hope we don't have one of those "unfortunate" accidents, so often associated with a close points lead in the final F1 race, where the points leader is eliminated by a teammate of the eventual winner. And they say Nascar is brutal! Barring that, however, I think it is really bad luck when a Ferrari engine grenades, and a Renault does not!
