Rumors
The web has been full of rumors about new models of BMWs to be launched at Intermot in Cologne from October 11th to the 15th. The rumors seem to be based on how you read the last sentence in the third paragraph of the International BMW Motorrad website (http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/com/en/index_frameset.html) comments about Intermot.

The rumor: BMW to launch 5 new models at Intermot. This may include a G model single.

Feature

Now this is an extreme classic build. From the Classic MotorCycle Magazine’s e-edited version of the article (http://www.classicmotorcycle.co.uk/feature.htm) we find out:

“Not a restoration or a rebuild, and without components to copy, Dan designed, cast, machined and assembled his V-four from a black-and-white photograph and a cutaway sketch of the 1936 air-cooled AJS V-four prototype. And if you didn’t know AJS built an air-cooled V-four, you’re not alone.”

Gear
Not long ago we had a rather long lived thread that dealt with the idea of taking a gun along on a ride. I don’t carry when I ride but wondered how others did. I ran into this company today, Toaters.com (http://www.totersjeans.com/index.html), while looking for something else for a client.

Wonderings

What is your response to these 10 motorcycle myths posted on WhyBike?
1. You must not make enough money to afford a real vehicle
2. You can’t buy groceries on a bike
3. Bikers are antisocial
4. You can’t wear nice clothes
5. You can only ride when it is sunny
6. Chicks dig bikers
7. There is no #7
Life does not make sense sometimes. Neither do motorcycle myths. (So why does that fact there is no #7 make sense to me? Oh well)
8. You must accept the risks
9. You must not worry about crashing?
10. You will give it up once you have kids
Here is what the WhyBike (http://www.whybike.com/blog/index.php?p=129) blog and readers are saying.

The “Burton” is vintage racing Norton built by a Brit expat living in Japan. Featured in the blog section of CycleWorld.com in January, they wrote,”… Not your ordinary Norton, either, with Keihin FCR carbs, Branch head, Maney cylinder, belt-drive primary, Megacycle cam, Quantum shocks, etc., etc., etc. Apparently it makes 72 hp at the rear wheel!...”

Looks like a very practical vehicle for Iceland.
:wave I probably know the people with too much time on their hands. It helps that there is so much daylight during the summer. There is a tendency to save sleeping for winter.

sounds like trying to get HP out of an oilhead, not sure what motor is in that bike, but isn't a standard commando like 68hp????

Hi Holly, when I wrote that I wondered if I would get a comment from you. :wave

Bubba check out this site and pick your Norton (http://www.bikez.com/brand/norton_motorcycles.php). This guy has made some serious mods to generate that kind of hp.

Yes, I always rise to the Icelandic bait. I have Thanksgiving visitors from Neenah, WI and we are trying to figure out where you are. Doing the turkey thing today. Not a rotten shark in site.
