Hi, folks:
I am planning a ~1000-mile solo ride to Lake Tahoe and back next week (from the Los Angeles area, about 500 miles each way). Does anyone who knows that area think there might be ice up around Lake Tahoe? I have never been up there but I have heard the elevation is over 4000 feet. The weather reports are predicting sunny weather with temps ranging from right around freezing up into the 60s. If you think it might get icy, I can try to avoid riding around up there in the wee hours. I bet I'll sure be glad to have the heated seat and the full fairing when I'm up there!
I ride a lot, mostly commuting and some touring, but this is my first long solo ride and I am excited about it. Thanks for any weather tips.
