Hi All, I know everyone has done it. Dropped a tiny part and all of a sudden every mark and stain on the garage floor looks like the lost part.
On reassembly of the left and right switches on the bars of my 92, K75RT,[I can't imagine they are not all the same], I lost one of the tiny [4x20mm- sure hope I ordered the right size] counter sunk, phillips screws that hold the switches and covers to the grips. Looked on the parts list, and thought ,"this is stupid", why pay BMW $2.00 for a screw when I can buy a box for a few bucks. If I live for 1 or 2 more lifetimes, I might use 1 or 2 more.
So here's the free part, if anyone else looses one of these stupid screws, e-mail me for address, and send a self addressed envelope, and I will send you a screw, "as long as supplies last" rj
Well, hows this for screwing up [pun intended],...thinking 12mm, writing 20mm and, if thats not bad enough, ordering 10mm. So hold those cards and letters until the box of correct length [4x12mm]arrive from McMaster-Carr. I'm sure it will take longer than the orig.estimate of 1 or 2 lifetimes to use the box of the wrong size and If anyone needs any 4x10mm countersunk screws, I seem to have an ample supply of those as well. rj OK, the correct size screws are in, and they fit! So If anyone needs one of these #&*#%& screws, let me know.rj
