Oh, gosh... this is very sad. Jim made such a great contribution to the BMW MOA.

He was always to nice to me, a vintage n00b, explaining stuff, and helping me evaluate my bike for correctness.

We have lost a pillar of our club. :(

Very sorry to hear the unexpected news of Jim's passing. He was a true BMW vintage enthusiast. I wondered why he wasn't in Vermont this summer. All he ever said was that something had come up and he couldn't make it. Now we know. Ride in peace.

Thank you all so much for the heartfelt posts...it's been a tough week. Jim was the reason I started riding motorcycles, and he will be greatly missed. He had been having health issues for some months now, but the acceleration of things in the past few weeks was just so unexpected. It was hard to see him in the hospital the way he was, made so small and weak.

I had been hoping to see him at VT as it was my first national rally, but now I'll never have the opportunity to share that experience with him. Now I'm sitting here in JFK just trying to get home and it's all rolling around in my head.

The MOA, among other organizations devoted to BMW and vintage bikes, was one of his most fervent passions. Thank you to all his friends from over the years, he would have wished to say goodbye to all of you.

Christopher Falk (Jim's nephew)
