My K-100 has a Polycarbonate windshield that has a deteriorated coating. Only way to continue using this windsheild is to remove the coating. Any thoughts?

Chris,
I had the same problem. My old shield even had small patches where the coating had come off by itself, and you could actually see through those small patches.
I read some old threads suggesting rubbing with pages of black & white news paper would remove, probably through the friction & heat generated.
I read another thread that suggested the use of white vinagor. I tried both and then combined them. It takes a hell of a lot of rubbing & scrubbing, but the stuff eventually comes off. Beats paying $300/$400 for a new shield. :bottle

If all else fails, for the ultimate solution, you might try Flitz metal polish. I used it on aircraft plexiglas windscreens after they would build up a layer of coating like Meguiar's cleaner. I takes a lot of effort, but Flitz will even minimize small scratches.
